Sunlight bounces off the stream that meanders nearby
It sparkles…catching my wandering gaze…
A cool breeze caresses my face as I turn towards the field
As I look across to the distant yet distinct horizon
Bright sunflowers and carefree daffodills
Cover the ground everywhere
A yellow and warm carpet of petals, stems and hues
A field of flowers…A field of dreams…
She is always on my mind
That girl who I’ve fallen in love with…whom I love…
This place reminds me of her…
I love her character…her personality…
So bright, so carefree, so warm,
I smile to myself as I think…so goofy…
My mind thinks back to when we first met
On a staircase as we talked and laughed
What interesting games Fate and Love often concoct
Us mortals always left up to their devices…
This girl from the ‘burbs..*smile*
I love her so…
I love her immensely…
As I stand in this field…hands outstretched as
I spin around in frenzied bliss…
My heart pounds seven times faster
And beats twelve times harder…
As she dances across my mind…
Smiling at me with that amazing smile…
Lighting my life, brightening my heart…
Illuminating my world…
I love her…
She is always on my mind
That girl who I’ve fallen in love with…whom I love…
As I stand in this field…hands outstretched…
This field of flowers…this field of love…
This field of dreams…
I think…
Life is so perfect right now…

I held my breath for almost the entire time I was reading…this poem is beautiful…This poem IS love. At the beginning I did not expect this to turn into a poem about love, but about contemplation. The way you weaved a surreal like world into the real world. You took me from a “a field of flowers” with a nearby stream to a staircase somewhere in your memory. This poem touched a soft spot in my heart because when my bf and I first started dating we would always meet up at the stairs outside my apartment and talk for hours…this is definitely good writing when someone can read it and take a piece of it for themselves.
Also, the descriptions were vivid enough to bring me into your world, but not so much that it was overwhelming. Like when you started remembering the day you met her, I felt like I was there in the field having a flash back and then snapping out of to focus back on the beauty before me.
Thank you for sharing this with the world…

My humblest thanks. I’m simply glad to know my words can inspire feeling in others…
